Lucky Draw

The Lucky Draw module lets you run prize draws live during your event. Draws can pull winners from your ticket database or from a CSV list you upload, with a customizable audience-facing result page that supports two reveal animations (Slot Machine and Countdown) and optional sound and background image.

Opening Lucky Draw

  1. Navigate to the Sub Event tab.
  2. Click the Lucky Draw card for the sub-event you want to manage.
  3. Click Create Lucky Draw at the top to add your first draw, or select an existing draw to view its details.

Create a Lucky Draw

Click Create Lucky Draw to open the create form.

Fields

  • Name — up to 50 characters.
  • Winner Quantity — how many winners to draw per round (1–10).
  • Description — details or purpose of the draw.
  • Source — required. Choose:
    • Tickets (default) — "Winners are drawn from ticket holders, filtered by the ticket types you select below."
    • CSV List — "Winners are drawn from the CSV you upload below."
  • Eligible Ticket Types (Tickets source only) — select at least one ticket type. The form rejects an empty selection.
  • CSV Entries (CSV List source only) — click Download Template to get lucky_draw_import_template.csv, fill it in, and upload via drag-and-drop or Choose File. Required column: Full Name (also accepts full name, full_name, name, holder name, fullname). Optional column: Company (also accepts company name, organization). Duplicate names within a single upload are rejected.

Click Submit to save the draw.

Note: Source cannot be changed after creation. The field is disabled in Edit mode with the helper text "Source can't be changed after creation."

Manage CSV Participants

For draws with Source = CSV List, the entries are managed in a separate Participants dialog (not the Create form). Open it from the Participants button in the draw's banner header.

  • The header card shows "N participant(s)" with a Clear all button.
  • The list table shows #, Full Name, and Company.
  • To replace the list, upload a new CSV under Replace with a new CSV. Uploading replaces the existing entries entirely (it does not append).
  • The Download Template button is also available here for reference.
  • Click Upload N participant(s) in the footer to commit the staged file, or Close to cancel.

Configure the Result Page (Settings)

Click the Settings button in the draw's banner header to open the Result Page Settings dialog. Settings persist with Save; Cancel discards.

Setting What it does
Reveal Template Choose Slot Machine (reels spin and ease to a stop on each winner, then cascade the rest into a panel below) or Countdown (numbers flip 5→1, then burst into particles on zero before revealing winners). Default is Slot Machine.
Sound Plays a celebration sound when winners are revealed.
Repeatable Winners Allow the same ticket or entry to be drawn more than once. Off by default. Toggle any time.
Background Image Shown full-screen behind the reveal animation. Recommended 16:9 at 1920×1080+. Cropped to fit. Max 5 MB (UI advises ≤2 MB). Accepts JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP.

Open the Result Page

The Open Result Page button launches the audience-facing display in a new browser tab. Move that tab to your projector or external screen.

Once it's open, watch the Result Page Status card on the left side of the detail view:

  • Connected (green) — the result tab is live and ready to receive winners. Mode shows which template (Slot Machine or Countdown) the result page is currently rendering.
  • Not Connected (orange) — "No active connection. Launch result page to enable real-time winner display."
Important: Live Draw, Display Selected Winners, and Clear Winner all require the status to be Connected. Clicking them with no result page open shows an error toast.

Run the Draw

You can run a draw two ways:

Option A — Live Draw (one click)

  1. Make sure the result page is open and Connected.
  2. Click the Live Draw button (lightning-bolt icon). It generates the winners and immediately broadcasts them to the result page in one step.

Option B — Manual (three steps)

  1. Click Generate Winners to randomly pick winners. A toast confirms "Winners generated successfully!". (For Tickets-source draws, configure Ticket Eligibility first — see below.)
  2. The Winner Selection checklist appears, listing the generated winners ("N winners available · M selected"). Tick the winners you want to reveal — use Select All / Deselect All to toggle in bulk. Each row shows the holder name, company, and ticket type.
  3. Click Display Selected Winners to broadcast the chosen winners to the result page (the reveal animation plays). At least one winner must be ticked, or the button errors with "Please select at least one winner!"

Ticket Eligibility (Tickets-source draws only)

The Ticket Eligibility section appears for Tickets-source draws only. Choose:

  • Only Checked-In Tickets — restrict to attendees who have checked in.
  • All tickets — include every registered attendee.

Clear the Result Page Between Rounds

The Clear Winner button (next to the action buttons) clears the currently-displayed winners on the result page so it's ready for the next reveal. The result page shows a toast: "Winner cleared!"

Note: Clear Winner only resets the result page display. It does not delete past winners from history — for that, use Reset Lucky Draw.

History Winners and Reset

The History Winners panel on the right side of the detail view groups every past round of winners. Each click of Generate Winners or Live Draw creates a new round.

  • Rounds are sorted newest first; each round can be expanded or collapsed.
  • Columns: Holder Name, Company, Ticket Type, Ticket #, Won Date (Ticket Type and Ticket # are hidden for CSV draws).
  • The cycle button at the top toggles between Only Latest, Expand All, and Collapse All.
  • The Reset Lucky Draw button (red, danger) wipes all winner history. Confirms first: "Are you sure you want to reset this lucky draw? This will clear all winner history and cannot be undone."

Edit, View, and Delete a Draw

The banner header of each draw has these buttons:

  • Edit — opens the Create dialog in edit mode (form pre-filled). Note that Source is locked.
  • Participants — opens the CSV Participants dialog. Only shown when Source = CSV List.
  • Settings — opens the Result Page Settings dialog.
  • Delete — deletes the draw after a confirmation prompt.

The banner also displays eligible group tags (one chip per ticket type the draw filters) and quick stats: Winners, Repeatable (Yes/No), and Groups.
